Safeguarding Policy

Last updated: 2026

Our commitment

Care Connectors is committed to safeguarding adults at risk and children. We want everyone who uses the platform — families, carers and care services — to feel safe, respected and protected from abuse, neglect and harm.

Who this policy covers

This policy applies to everyone who uses Care Connectors, including people seeking care, carers, providers of other services, and anyone who interacts with members through the platform. It is designed to protect adults at risk, children and the people who support them.

Our expectations of members

Carers and providers who list on Care Connectors are expected to:

  • Treat every person with dignity, respect and kindness
  • Be honest about their experience, checks and insurance
  • Hold a current police check (DBS, Access NI or Garda Vetting) where one is declared
  • Follow the safeguarding policies of the families and organisations they work with
  • Report any concern about a person's safety to the relevant authorities

Self-declared verification

The police check, NISCC registration, right to work and insurance confirmations shown on member profiles are self-declared. Care Connectors does not independently verify these confirmations. Always ask to see original certificates or documents before arranging care, and check references.

If you have a concern

If you are worried that someone using Care Connectors may be at risk of abuse, neglect or harm, please:

  • If someone is in immediate danger, call 999 (or 112 in Ireland)
  • Report concerns to the relevant adult or children's safeguarding team in your area
  • Contact us at the email address used when you set up your Care Connectors account so we can review the member's listing

How we respond

We take every safeguarding concern seriously. Where we believe a member poses a risk to others, we may remove their profile and suspend their account while we investigate, and we will cooperate fully with the police and statutory safeguarding authorities.
